An £850,000 cupboard

Tiny maisonette in Knightsbridge goes on the market for the ridiculous sum of £850,000 (despite having just 33 years remaining on its lease)

Indication of the crazy heights London property prices have reached has this week been provided in the launch to the market of an £850,000 maisonette in Knightsbridge.

This floor plan illustrates how small each room in the flat truly is

Offered by Jackson-Stops & Staff and just 1,004 square foot in size, a ground and basement flat at 35 Ovington Square has has two bathrooms and two bedrooms (but neither is large: one is just 12’6” by 8’4” in size) and ten percent of the total floor space comes in the form of two open vaults.

For sale on a lease that has just 33 years remaining, the apartment is subject to a ground rent of £1,250 per annum and a service charge of £2,629 per annum. It is anything but a veritable bargain.

  1. What a charming maisonette, with an Italian style patio and open vault. Worth a lot more than they are asking. Better a box in Knightsbridge, Kensington, or Chelsea, that a mansion Up North.

    1. I fear you are wrong, David, to enfranchise that short lease with a ground rent of that magnitude will cost you an arm and a leg. Jackson, Stops have sensibly priced it as they know idiots will bid it up.
