Former home of Ian Fleming that is currently owned by Sol Campbell for sale for £6.75 million

Ian Fleming lived at 24 Carlyle Mansions on Chelsea’s Cheyne Walk between 1950 and 1953 and wrote Casino Royale there during that period. Bought in 2011 for £4.25 million ($6.5 million, €5.8 million) by Campbell and his interior designer wife Fiona Barratt-Campbell after a “sit-in at an estate agents’” office, the 2,390 square foot fifth floor penthouse includes a reception room, a study area, a dining kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

Renovated to what the selling agent terms “an exacting standard” by Barratt-Campbell, the apartment is situated within a mansion building known as The Writers’ Block. T. S. Eliot lived at no. 19, Henry James at no. 21 and Somerset Maugham at no. 27 at various times.
