Siân Phillips CBE

Siân PhillipsThrice married and the wife of Peter O’Toole between 1959 and 1979, Siân Phillips was born in West Glamorgan and has two daughters. This actress extraordinaire took on her first professional role aged just 11 when she played a ginger tom cat on BBC Radio Wales and chose Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte soave sia il vento as her Desert Island Disc in 1997. She lives in Spitalfields and considers her biggest vice to be coffee.

  1. Peter O’ Toole was my kind of actor, he was wicked in Goodbye, Mr Chips, Becket, My Favourite year, he left a great legacy. Netflix must take notes, we the concerning viewers despise shit…….

  2. During Peter’s drinking years … when I met him many times inn Soho and around. Always fun. His look-a-like and great chum was Jeff Bernard, whom he went on to play in Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell by the great humorist Keith Waterhouse – they were all great chums. Peter and Jeff looked very alike, albeit Peter was about 10″ taller.
