2012 Boat Race protestor Trenton Oldfield tweets ‘The Steeple Times’

Trenton Oldfield will only ever be remembered for one thing: wrecking the 2012 Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race. Ahead of today’s race, this “activist” tweeted us to complain that we were “a little obsessed” with him. We can confirm that we are not in the slightest bit interested in his activities and have not even featured him once on our pages since 27th April 2012.

Our belief, however, is that this convicted public nuisance and now ex-con should behave himself today. It would be a travesty if he or another again caused disruption to an event that is not about “elitism” but instead just a sporting event enjoyed by many thousands of people. Trenton Oldfield: Please, just keep your left wing oar out.
