One of Lancashire’s most striking houses is for sale; it was once home to ‘Mr Moonlight’ singer Frankie Vaughan

 

Easy listening singer Frankie Vaughan CBE, DL (1928 – 1999) spent two summers at Halton Green House, near Lancaster in the 1950s so that he could fish on the nearby River Lune. The striking symmetrical property was built in the 1930s and it is now for sale for £2.5 million ($3 million or €2.8 million) through Fine & Country.

 

Situated amongst picturesque countryside and set in landscaped formal gardens, the 7,427 square foot property features four reception rooms, seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There is also a gym and a cinema room and on the first floor there are two expansive roof terraces.

 

The somewhat curious décor of the house should be overlooked as this truly is a striking property. There is also full planning permission for a purpose built leisure suite with an infinity swimming pool.
