Matthew Steeples suggests that Met Police chief Dame Cressida Dick is not fit for purpose and must finally now resign
Dame Cressida Dick DBE, QPM shouldn’t be in charge of a bus ticket, let alone the nation’s capital’s police force. Here is a woman who spends her time moaning about the BBC’s Line of Duty drama series – which she claimed “absolutely outraged” her – rather than actually solving crime; frankly, she’s proved as useful as a chocolate teapot and now, today, I again call for her to just go.
In September last year, when we revealed that an escaped prisoner couldn’t get himself arrested in spite of handing himself in to the Met Police on seven, yes SEVEN occasions, we remarked “it’s long been known that Dame Cressida couldn’t police a pissup in a brewery,” but in the time since things have gotten worse at the force headed by this totally inept and clearly inane waste of space.
Aside from having been in charge of the operation in which a totally innocent man, Jean Charles de Menezes, was shot dead due to gross incompetence on the part of her officers in 2005 and given what The Sun termed “feeble” responses to “lawless protests by Extinction Rebellion and others,” the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis’ response to the conviction of one of her own officers has been utterly showing of the fact that she truly isn’t fit for purpose.
Armed officer Wayne Couzens – who was indicatively nicknamed by colleagues at The Met ‘The Rapist’ yet nothing was done about him – has now pleaded guilty to the murder of Sarah Everard in March. How did his boss respond? With what The Sun quite rightly called out as “vapid assurances [that] lessons [have] been learned across the board.” Going further they added: “The people to blame for this predator being on the streets should be held to account,” whilst we add: SHAME ON HER.
Condemned also by the crusading blog From The Hornets Nest also last week as “presiding over our crime-riven city” and protected by a “pernicious, masonic like influence,” any respect there ever was for Dame Cressida Dick is well and truly gone. She now needs to finally do the only thing left to her: RESIGN and clear ‘orf.
