Wishing all readers a Happy New Year and prosperity and cheer in 2017 and a New Year missive from Donald Trump
We thank all our readers for supporting us in 2016 – a year of great turbulence – and are pleased to have shared a huge array of moments and happenings with you.
May we wish you the very best for the New Year and may 2017 be a great year for us all.
Donald Trump’s wishes to his “many enemies”
Elsewhere, ‘The Donald’ took to Twitter to share his thoughts also. He tweeted:
“Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do. Love!”
You quite simply couldn’t make it up.
Thank you Steeple Times for giving me a daily read that I truly love at 11am everyday. I find your writing worthy of commendation and I hope you keep breaking news stories others would never dare. Cheers to you!
Yet more f************** cr****** from The Steeple Times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to enjoy this website but get with the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Donald Trump will be the best President EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Matthew Steeples should be locked in the tower or otherwise he’ll get killed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I regularly read the Steeple Times and enjoy Matthew’s well written wordings. It has been a turbulant year for politics but what a show! Never a dull moment. Happy New Year S.T. and all readers of same. Rod is letting off steam again.
Oh dear Rod. Seems Matthew is patient with you. You say you used to enjoy being here, but there is no compulsion for you to be here reading what you don’t like. My own suggestion is that you should ********** *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You used to be mildly entertaining but you lost the plot somewhere.
I am currently wondering what the US are doing about the latest mess up. Seems the chances are small that Russia hacked anyone using out of date Ukrainian code and left traces of the possibility they did. Barry messed up bigtime and Vlad ran rings round him and I am afraid a small fry like Donald, in political terms, will get the same.
2017 is the year to close the door on war
This strikes me as a very spiteful site. Are there ever exchanges of reasonable opinions?
Matthew, I am returning to London from Feb. 1 to 10. What is. The name of the Resaurant/bar where we met last year? I am the americano from the sa Diego area of America. Would like to reconnect & mourn the election of the “Donald”.
Robert Scambray
How nice to hear from you. I shall look forward to seeing you so please do email and we’ll make a plan. The restaurant is La Brasserie, 272 Brompton Road, SW3 2AW. Happy New Year and my apologies on your forthcoming President.
It does seem to me that you are very much against those who voted (successfully) for Great Britain to secede from the European Union as well as those who voted (successfully) for Mr Trump to be the next President of the United States.
You have every right, both as an individual and as editor of this publication to state your opinion. But is it wise of you to go against, what is probably, the view of the majority of your readers?
We have offered those from the opposing side the right to reply on many occasions. Instead they just moan and rant.
Are these the so-called “remoaners”?
Gulliver: ‘Are these the remoaners?” Au contraire, they want to be remainers but lost the vote. Democracy’s a b*tch, isn’t it, when you’re in the minority?
In reply to your question about SteepleT being a spiteful site, I would say, no more than any other site. The internet has given free rein to a lot of people with some very strange views: racist, violent, ignorant and unhinged. Oh God, am I one of them? You should read some of the comments in e.g. The Daily Beast and Scotland’s The Herald…scary.
Matthew has his own strong views and I never mind, even when they disagree with MY views, equally idiosyncratic. Do please stick with it, Gulliver. Matthew is never anything other than entertaining.
Thank you Margaret. Your are too kind.
We regularly offer those of opposing views the chance to publish their views. They mostly just reply with abuse. That speaks volumes to me.
