Matthew Steeples highlights an example of the kind of abuse Gina Miller has had to suffer for simply bringing a legal challenge that was most definitely necessary
Financier and philanthropist Gina Miller – a hero of our times for challenging Theresa May’s attempt to invoke Article 50 without a parliamentary vote – has suffered abuse from all kinds of lunatics. She’s been called a “despot” and a “bitch”, people have urged others to rape and murder her and one troll suggested “cancer’s too good for her”. Even the Mail Online – and they’re no fans of hers – stated that this is nothing but “vile”.
An example of an especially nasty rabid ranter is a man named Rupert James. Hailing from Cheshire and running some kind of solar panel business in Canada also (which seems a little curious for someone so anti the environmentalist movement), this angry ageing bore published a series of posts about Gina Miller on Facebook this week.
They read:
“Meddling bloody publicity seeking ‘Little Miller’ … Victory for Democracy … No its [sic] undermined the Democratic process!!!”
“Bloody self promoting ‘Minx’ …. !!” (accompanying article titled “Traitor”)
And finally:
“Stupid ‘Bint’ … !!!”
James, who has also targeted me in recent days and predictably despite bullying humans likes to be photographed with animals, should be reminded of one thing: Civilised people don’t lower themselves to this level. Whether you like or loathe someone’s views, if you can’t express your own rationally in response, you belong in the nut house.
