Matthew Steeples reports on the CNET founder Halsey Minor having discovered a new president and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for his latest venture, Bitreserve, via ‘The Steeple Times’
The influence of The Steeple Times goes a long way but in the case of the “financial and commercial luminary” Anthony Watson, it was because of one of our features that the CNET and Bitreserve founder Halsey Minor first came across this powerhouse. This week, Minor announced that Watson would become the president and COO of the latter company.
Of his appointment, Watson – whose previous roles include that of global chief information officer for Nike, Inc. and managing director and chief information officer of Europe retail and business banking at Barclays Bank PLC – commented:
“I am thrilled to join Bitreserve at such a pivotal moment in the evolution of cloud money and financial technology. Money is a common language around the world and Bitreserve democratizes how people access, hold, and move value. We have the unique opportunity to craft a lasting legacy of delivering transparency, massive innovation, and positive social impact to financial services and in peoples’ everyday lives”.
I am delighted to have played a small role in having brought together one of Silicon Valley’s greatest talents and one of the rising stars of British finance. Together, they’ll make great things happen.
