Frankie Boyle owes Jeremy Clarkson an apology
Frankie Boyle is a provocative yet humourless Scottish comedian who’d do well to stay north of the border. In demanding one of Britain’s favourite television presenters is sacked by the BBC, he’s truly gone too far and frankly he ought to make an apology to Jeremy Clarkson.
Speaking at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, Boyle described Clarkson as:
“A cultural tumour… Sack him. Because he’s a cultural tumour. He comes from a very bad place and the reason he’s tolerated is because he’s recognised by the people in power; they know people like Clarkson”.
“In fact he knows Cameron, he’s a friend of Cameron. He’s there like a f*****g growth and he should be removed because he’s horrible”.
“Clarkson is like that for a reason, he’s come from a certain background. He’s taught to not empathise. His worst traits are encouraged”.
Boyle is wrong. Jeremy Clarkson is an eternal breath of fresh air in broadcasting. We need more like him.
