Picture of the Week: Learning to be nice

Big Brother brings out the real Katie Hopkins (and it is far from nice)

Motor-mouth Katie Hopkins no doubt has been paid handsomely to enter Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother house and though she claims she “hasn’t got a thing to prove”, the general public thankfully still know better than to believe a word she says.

In an interview prior to participating in the programme, Hopkins stated that she would hate to have to share a residence with “any fat person” and that “there will be no lust in the house while I am there”. In the feature, she was also asked if she “really believed all of the things [she] says” and responded:

“That’s an easy way to dismiss someone. I completely understand why it would be comfortable to dismiss someone who is disagreeing with something you’re saying as ‘just doing it for effect’. But I think that’s simplistic, because you would have to question why some gobby blonde bird from the south west of England says something that gets 17 million people viewing it. You have to be savvier than it just being controversial. It has to connect with something that a lot of people think or definitely don’t think. So something like me saying, ‘I would never call my child Tyler because that’s a ridiculous name’, we know that a lot of us think that when we call our child Hector or Sebastian; we have an idea of where that name will take us in life”.

Our Picture of the Week, however, shows the actual result of what happened when Katie Hopkins was handed into the realms of Big Brother. Of her first days in the house, she is reported to have commented: “This is the most scared I have been for sometime” and here, in this image, we see this vitriolic bully of the woman reduced to a blubbering wreck. Though she was initially tasked to “be nice”, it is refreshing to actually see Katie Hopkins being forced to accept a dose of her very own medicine.

    1. Why are you so rude? I am called Gillian Trott not “Trott person”. Learn some manners. As for Katie Hopkins I’ll tell you this……… She could do something good but she won’t. I don’t think she ought to support dear Gerry and Kate in their quest to find their beloved daughter Madeleine McCann as she has said disgraceful things about them in the past. I loathe and detest Katie Hopkins on this very basis and hope she stays in the Big Brother House on a permanent basis. Maybe you ought to go and join her there too Martin given your nastiness. Learn to be pleasant and make a donation to Find Madeleine if you have a decent bone in your body.

  1. To the caring and compassionate Trott- Why not approach Bunny Epstein for a donation, I believe he is a philanthropist too. He will probably refer you to the sperm bank. You and Katie are birds of a feather. Bonkers.
