Lawyers Baroness Shackleton and Raymond Toothe lunch at Scott’s
Raymond “The Rottweiler” Toothe and Fiona Shackleton spent two hours together on Friday lunching at Scott’s in Mount Street, Mayfair reported today’s The Sunday People.
An unnamed onlooker told the paper:
“The two were in deep conversation. It was very animated. Fiona held her head in her hands. And at one point she got angry and hit the table with the palm of her hand”.
Though, in the same article, it was stated that “The Sunday People understands neither lawyer has been instructed to act for Nigella or Saatchi”, they were keen to point out that Tooth acted for the art dealers second wife, Kay, in 2001 and that Shackleton is Nigella Lawson’s cousin.
Tooth and Shackleton are titans in the field of divorce law. Twice divorced himself and well known for running his business by the mantra “Don’t get even, get Tooth”, Raymond Tooth is best known for having represented Sadie Frost in her divorce from Jude Law, Cheryl Barrymore in her divorce from Michael Barrymore and Irina Abramovich in her divorce from Roman Abramovich.
Shackleton’s highest profile clients have numbered The Prince of Wales in his divorce from Princess Diana, Claire Henry in her divorce from Thierry Henry and Alyce Eichelberger in her divorce from John Cleese. She is best known for an incident during the final settlement hearing in the divorce of Heather McCartney Mills from Sir Paul McCartney where Mills poured a jug of water over her head.
If indeed the marriage of Saatchi and Lawson is dissected in a courtroom and if indeed it becomes a battle commanded by Shackleton and Tooth, more than water might just go flying.
