Former Brunei royal household Bentley Turbo ‘S’ heads to auction just as Kim Kardashian lifts her boycott of The Beverly Hills Hotel
The Sultan of Brunei might be worth £12 billion but he certainly isn’t a popular man right now. As the boycott of his hotels – including The Dorchester in London and Coworth Park near Ascot – continues, he must be delighted to have learnt that Kim Kardashian is no longer steering clear of another of his properties, The Beverly Hills Hotel in California. Meanwhile at Syon Park in west London at The Salon Privé sale by Silverstone Auctions on the 4th September, one of his household’s cars is headed to be sold.
The vehicle, a 1995 Bentley Turbo ‘S’, is described in its listing as “a future classic” and comes with an estimate of £40,000 to £50,000. It was is number 73 out of the 75 Turbo ‘S’ production run and is fitted with the most powerful production engine Bentley had produced up to that date. At 385bhp, this 3-tonne car can achieve 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 185mph.
Finished in Mason’s Black with Magnolia Hide and presented in excellent condition, the car was upgraded to include many extras such as privacy glass and sports style seating. It was little used by the Brunei royals during their ownership but participated in the four week Bentley Drivers’ Club “Europe by Bentley” tour in May this year with its second owner.
Kim Kardashian’s latest husband, Kanye West, is known for his love of cars. Perhaps he should put in a bid.
