A maze-like mansion: Villa Cielo de Bonaire

cielo de bonaire

Cielo de Bonaire: A vast £39 million villa that has failed to sell in three years that truly must have been built with a dictator or drug dealer in mind

A reduction in price from £39.2 million (€50 million) in 2011 to £35 million (€27.4 million) now has not helped a villa named Cielo de Bonaire at Alcúdia, Spain sell and nor have its “stunning views”, helipad and underground garage for 30 cars.

Villa Cielo de Bonaire

This 31,000 square foot behemoth is built into the hills of Mallorca and includes 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. There are both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gym, a spa, a library and a media room and the décor is described as “simple and stark”. Frankly, if you wished, so vast is this pad that you could very easily lose your guests for a week.

The public areas of the house are decorated in neutral colours
There are numeorus outdoor entertaining spaces as well
There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools
There are eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms

Everything at Villa Cielo de Bonaire is on a grand scale but given the days of “Essex boys” drug dealers and dictators such as Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi seeking out Spanish retreats have long gone, the market for such a property is now very limited. How many more years will actually have to pass before this maze-like mansion finds a buyer?

Villa Cielo de Bonaire has been on the market through a number of agents and is for sale through Vogue Properties.
