Rolls-Royce that belonged to the inventor Percy Shaw for sale

Yorkshireman Percy Shaw OBE (1890 – 1976) was a true eccentric and even the configuration of his Rolls-Royce cars were far from conventional.

One of the two Rolls-Royce’s owned by Shaw, the inventor of the Catseye road stud, is for sale currently through Preston based dealer William Loughran. The vehicle, a classic 1965 Phantom V by James Young, lacks a division between the driver and passenger as was typical in these normally chauffeur driven cars as Shaw preferred to drive it himself.

In immaculate condition, the black coloured limousine has covered just 16,500 miles and was used by Shaw to ferry his friends back and forth to his local golf course. It also starred on television when the inventor was interviewed on Alan Whicker’s Whicker’s World.

£999,999 is sought for this stunning car.
