The Royal Academy surpasses themselves in the choice of including a stunning staircase as part of their Summer Exhibition 2015
The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition is always a spectacular affair and this year they’ve truly surpassed themselves in including a work that takes over a staircase.
The colourful creation, that becomes our Picture of the Week, is the work of Jim Lambie and is named ‘Zobop’. Glasgow born and Turner Prize nominated Lambie’s works have appeared at the Venice Biennale and of them he has commented:
“For me something like Zobop, the floor piece, it is creating so many edges that they all dissolve. Is the room expanding or contracting? … Covering an object somehow evaporates the hard edge off the thing, and pulls you towards more of a dreamscape”.
Truly mesmerising, this is a work that we urge all readers to see and for that reason we make this image of it our Picture of the Week.
