American lifestyle website Proper Kid Problems is a sartorial zeitgeist
We’ve previously featured a British website that celebrates red trouser wearing sorts and now we make an American sartorial zeitgeist our Website of the Week.
Proper Kid Problems began as an anonymous Twitter handle and blog celebrating all things “preppy” but has since evolved to take the Internet by storm after merging with an “American heritage” brand named J. Riley. Together, the duo behind it, Dean – who prefers not to share his surname – and J. Bradley Tramer have created something that is the antithesis of the celebration of all things obnoxious that is Rich Kids of Instagram.
Proper Kid Problems is about “living life with class” but without pretention. It is about changing the concept of “preppiness” and “bring[ing] back the idea of ladies and gentlemen”. Here is a site that aims to “awake[n] the concept of chivalry” and celebrate “morals and manners” and frankly it is impressive.
On Proper Kid Problems you’ll find not only style advice but also interviews with people such as Jack Carlson, the author of Rowing Blazers. There is a monthly music selection and a question and answers forum and, equally, you’ll find suggestions on where to shop alongside travel tips. This website is a breath of fresh air and we are certain you’ll enjoy it.
