Yesterday’s terrible events in Woolwich should not encourage the rise of the BNP
The murder of a soldier in Woolwich yesterday was a terrible thing but it must be remembered that it was a “murder” rather than an “act of terrorism”.
Carried out by two Muslims of Nigerian descent, what the Daily Mail have referred to as a “slaughter” should not be exploited to foster hatred against Muslims or the black community. This country truly doesn’t need any more race riots and the people who come out of this awful situation best are the three selfless women who went to the aid of the victim, prayed for him and tried to prevent further carnage.
The racist, bigot and leader of the British National Party, Nick Griffin MEP, calculatingly, however, has used the murder to attempt to encourage support for his party. In a series of tweets to his 21,218 followers, he stated:
“Saturday 1st June. United Against Muslim terror. Demo in #Woolwich. All patriots welcome. All stand together!”
“After #Woolwich, isn’t it time the political elite apologised to Enoch Powell, to the family of Charlene Downes & all their other victims?”
“Media & politicians ‘strangely’ silent over widespread grassroots reports of young ‘British’ Muslims cheering & hooting on Woolwich news”.
“Angry & disgusted at Woolwich muslim murder? Join the BNP today and fight back http://tinyurl.com/joinbnp”
Mr Griffin is a repugnant individual who speaks for the few, not the many. Both his words and the statements of the two vile men who carried out this appalling killed should be ignored.
