What’s so special about the titled classes?
We’ve previously separately featured two women who gained titles because of whom they happened to end up married to. They are the sorts that now enjoy using these ‘accolades’ wherever they go.
The first, Lady Meyer CBE, appears in the media at any opportunity. She promotes herself as running “a charity for missing and abducted children” and as a “national treasurer of the Tory Party”. She’s thankfully only got 98 followers on Twitter but somehow gets herself on television sofas a little too often for our liking. When this occurs, anyone sensible simply rushes to hit the off button.
The second is a ‘baroness’ with a penchant for handing out business cards. She uses the name Baroness Marie-Claire von Alvensleben and thinks that she should be allowed to behave as she damn well wishes. This woman’s remarks and conduct are shocking and we welcome her trip to a court this Thursday 27th February on the basis that she’s been going around whinging about our factual article about what she did in December.
These two “ladies” deserve highlighting for separate reasons. They’re both, however, illustrative of exactly why some have come to lose respect for the system of privilege that they so openly celebrate.
