What became of Julian Assange’s pledge to “leave soon”?
On the 18th August, Julian Assange announced he’d be leaving the Ecuadorian Embassy in London “soon”. Two months have passed and given he’s still there, he’s yet again proven himself to be a liar and an utter pest.
The bail skipper Assange has been holed up in Knightsbridge since 19th June 2012 and policing his presence has cost in excess of £6 million. He has cost his backers the £200,000 in bail surety that they have had to surrender and he’s caused a diplomatic crisis between Britain and Ecuador.
Frankly, enough is enough and as Delia Smith once shouted (in a rather drunken fashion) to her compatriots at Norwich Football Club: “Come on, let’s be ‘avin ya”; it is time that the megamouth Julian Assange followed this advice and handed himself in.
