Jilly Cooper defends Rolf Harris
In this morning’s Richard Kay column in the Daily Mail, it was reported that the author Jilly Cooper took to the defence of her friend the entertainer Rolf Harris before a television appearance in Dublin this weekend.
Of Harris, who is under investigation for alleged sex offences, Mrs Cooper stated:
“All these women were teenagers saying: ‘Who will we get?’ It’s governed by money. ‘Oh gosh, let’s get £100,000’… It’s completely anonymous. Sweet Rolf Harris, he’s such a friend. Accusations don’t change my view. I love him. In my day it was called making a pass”.
Mrs Cooper’s loyalty could be considered admirable but would she say the same thing of Stuart Hall, Gary Glitter and Jonathan King?
