Liverpudlian Esther McVey MP offends the city of her birth by supporting ‘The Sun’
In Liverpool The Sun is banned. In this part of Britain the legacy of how that paper covered the Hillsborough disaster and the death of 96 people is still raw.
Esther McVey MP, born in Liverpool in October 1967, however, doesn’t see fit to support the citizens city of birth and in taking to Twitter to retweet article links to The Sun has caused great offence. According to one user, @Crumblex, “when she arrives at [Liverpool] Lime Street Station she is flanked by minders, but people still manage to shout abuse at her” whilst another, @virgosam70, received 2,600 likes and 1,300 retweets for a missive calling McVey out.
Condemned by “Everton legend” Peter Reid – who recently remarked: “I am not saying everyone from Liverpool is perfect. Esther McVey… Enough said.” – “thigh flashing” McVey is also a woman who was previously spokesman for the child neglecting chums of Baroness Meyer and Theresa May Gerry and Kate McCann and widely mocked for showing her knickers on daytime television. In politics, she’s known for having “misled parliament over the Universal Credit scheme” and as a woman akin to the modern day Mary Whitehouse when it comes to anything to do with sex.
Esther McVey is an utter disgrace and she should be vilified as such.
