Member of Parliament Sarah Wollaston should resign
Our Wally of the Week is a Member of Parliament named Dr Sarah Wollaston. This maliciously reckless woman is amongst those responsible for having ensured our contributor Nigel Evans was wrongly brought to trial by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Wollaston, who penned an article titled “Why am I being blamed for Nigel Evans sex case?” in today’s The Telegraph, is typical of the political classes. She is an individual incapable of apologising. In the feature, she stated:
“This process was never going to be easy. But I have been truly shocked by the rank hostility since Mr Evans’s acquittal”.
Here is a woman who has helped cost Nigel Evans his career and £130,000 in legal fees. Of her, Dan Hodges, a “former Labour Party and GMB trade union official”, also wrote in today’s The Telgraph:
““Was I right to listen to the complainants and pass on their allegations?’ she asks. Yes. But there are two other important questions Dr Wollaston needs to ask herself. If neither victim viewed the matter as serious enough to be brought to the attention of the police – but wanted Nigel Evans ‘disciplined’ – why did that not raise alarm bells about the veracity of the allegations? And secondly, if the allegations were so serious, why did Dr Wollaston try to raise them with John Bercow?”
It is time that Woolaston did the decent thing: The only thing she needs to do is to resign.
