In her 2010 novel, The Recessionistas, this esteemed Jewish mother of three chronicled the consequences of economic collapse for a wealthy New York investment banker and his socialite wife. Alexandra Lebenthal describes herself as a “finance expert” to her 2,300 followers on Twitter and is president and CEO of Lebenthal & Co. and its multi-family office, Alexandra & James. A graduate of Princeton University, Lebenthal claims to have come from “a storied Wall Street family” and has variously done philanthropic work for The School of American Ballet, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of the City of New York. In 2012, this “natural networker” told Fortune that she “revelled in femininity” and added: “Accessories are my armor [sic]”.
