Having claimed that “five years in the EU lunatic asylum showed me that EU corruption was truly out of control”, former UKIP MEP and immigrant hater Ashley Mote was jailed for five years in July 2015 after being convicted for fraudulently claiming some £500,000 in European Parliament expenses. Locked up previously for the theft of £65,000 in benefits, Mote blamed everyone but himself for his criminal activities. He went as far as to suggest that the timing of his trial was “blatant politics”, that he had “serious memory problems” and that he was only convicted because of “cynicism against anyone in politics”. This crook is delusion personified.
