Christine Walkden describes herself as a “gardener, horticulturist, plantswoman, lecturer, trainer, garden centre advisor, tour leader and guide, broadcaster, writer and photographer”. She is also the patron of a number of organisations and on that basis, one has to ask: “Where on earth does she find the time?” A Lancastrian and regular on the BBC’s The One Show, Walkden has over 5,500 followers on Twitter, is unmarried and lives in Sawbridgeworth, near Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire.
