Worth some £5 billion, Leslie Wexner has been described as “very shy” and “certainly not the showing off type of American”. A father of four whose money was managed by Jeffrey Epstein until he was jailed for child sex offences and prostitution in 2008, Wexner was born in Dayton, Ohio and now resides between a £30.7 million mock Georgian mansion he built in 1990 just outside Columbus, Ohio and the a shooting estate in Warwickshire, England that he acquired for £3 million in 1997. He started his clothing empire in 1963 with a loan of $5,000 from an aunt and acquired Victoria’s Secret for $1 million in 1982. A supporter of the arts, a philanthropist and the owner of a 315-foot long mega-yacht named Limitless, Wexner transformed the brand into a global phenomenon and – as of October 2015 – controls some 41% of America’s £8.5 billion a year lingerie market. Where there’s bras, there’s money; lots of money.
