A controversial, twice-married, former parish priest turned multi-millionaire businessman, Derbyshire born Robert Parker left the Anglican church in 1984 and set up a chain of care homes. He has since bought hotels and buy-to-let holiday homes and is said to be worth around £24 million. In June 2015, he came to public attention after allegedly “taking seven horses hostage” on his 2,000-acre Tedsmore Estate in Shropshire.
