Ronnie Spector

Ronnie Spector

Ronnie SpectorBorn in Spanish Harlem, big haired Ronnie Spector is a singer and a survivor. She’s worked with Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and Ringo Starr and is best summed up by the title of her autobiography: Be My Baby: How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts, and Madness. The lead singer of The Ronettes was married to and domineered by the now convicted murderer Phil Spector between 1968 and 1974 and only escaped by admitting herself into rehab. She has five children and was described by The Telegraph as still “sexy” at seventy. Ever cheerful, her guiding force is to “keep on trucking”.
