In marrying Hugh van Cutsem in 2005, Edinburgh educated Rose Astor united two dynasties. She describes herself as a “mother of three little pigs” and the “wife of a hunter” to her 4,000 Twitter followers and doesn’t mince her words when she also adds: “Eat whatever you want. And if anyone objects, eat them too”. Part of the Chipping Norton set, Rose van Cutsem co-founded the high-end “family members’ club” Maggie & Rose and has also worked with the Soho House founder Nick Jones on a country club concept. One of her daughters, a flower girl at Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011, famously clapped her ears in protest at all the noise on the palace balcony. Her favourite book is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.
