This former Minister for Children is not without controversy. She’s criticised the Proms for not being inclusive enough and instead rates Coronation Street. In 2004, she was named as the winner of the Big Brother Award as the “Worst Public Servant” for her backing of the Universal Child Database. In the same year, a Fathers 4 Justice campaigner handcuffed her on the basis that she was the “bogeywoman of family law.”
