Site of polo club owned by the late Peter Grace OBE for sale for £12 million
Peter Grace OBE (1938 – 2013) was once described by the Prince of Wales as “one of the best instructors that there is in polo”. His four daughters – known alternatively as the ‘Four Graces’ or the ‘Amazing Graces’ – are leading figures in women’s polo but now the property on which the family’s club, Ascot Park Polo Club in Chobham, Surrey, is located is for sale through Savills.
Placed on the market in two lots and extending to 119 acres in total, agents Savills describe the £12 million ($17.3 million or €15.4 million) property they offer as “an exciting opportunity to create a fabulous new estate within easy striking distance of London”. Planning permission for an eight bedroom, 27,307 square foot mansion is included as well as three full-sized polo fields, two practice fields and one of the largest all-weather arenas in Europe. A detached 1,254 square foot Victorian cottage is also included but no mention is made of a series of mammoth pylons that adjoin the site.
