A salute to those taking on challenges this Christmas
As the majority settle down to their Christmas feasts, give a thought to The Atlantic Polo Team who are racing across the Atlantic in a seven metre by two metre rowing boat unaided and Parker Liautaud, a young man who has just become the youngest man to ski to the South Pole.
Polo players Bobby Melville, Henry Brett, James Glasson and Fergus Scholes are raising funds for charities Brooke, Right to Play and the Hilton in the Community Foundation as part of their efforts. To donate to their causes click here.
Meanwhile, Parker Liataud, a 19-year old geology student, broke the 22-day speed record for the journey to the South Pole along with his expedition partner, Doug Stoop. The pair completed the journey on Christmas Eve in 18 days, four hours and 43 minutes.
Hearty congratulations to all concerned.
