The Tout’s tips for The Masters 2014
The Tout believes that picking the winner of The Masters is even harder than finding the winner The Grand National or managing to get a bed in a cell in a Liverpool police station on a Saturday night. However, we have been fortunate on golf for the past two years with The Steeple Times and have found the winner of The Open twice and the third placed in The Masters last year.
There is not much early season form at the moment but Rory McIlroy has been talking his chances up ever since a back injury has ruled out Tiger Woods. He is available at 11/1 which represents no value in golf so you may as well wait until after the cut. If he is going well, then back him at that stage.
An older and sounder head sometimes works better around Augusta and for this reason take Jim Furyk at 66/1 and the wild card bet is Sergio Garcia at 18/1. Sergio is a nudge away from winning one of these Majors and deserves one soon.
Play small and you are probably better off waiting until the final round to make a serious play as these prices are like living in a fairytale. Ian Woosnam is available at 10,000/1 and he has won it before.
