Garden shed capable of speeds of in excess of 70mph takes to the roads
With the help of a letter from David Cameron to the DVLA, a two-tonne garden shed on wheels has taken to the road.
Owned and built by Kevin Nicks, a 51-year old mechanic and gardener from Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, the “bonkers” vehicle sits on the chassis of a Volkswagen Passat and has reached a speed of 70.8mph on a private airfield near York.
Of the bizarre vehicle, Mr Nicks told The Telegraph:
“I’m so proud to be the builder of it. When you pull up to the traffic lights it makes people smile because it just looks so wrong”.
He now plans to build other “equally weird vehicles”.
