World’s first gin made in an airport launches at Gatwick
There are gimmicks and there are gimmicks and then there’s airport gin. Just launched to coincide with the opening of a new pub in Gatwick’s north terminal is a new on-site gin distillery producing Nicholas Culpeper London Dry Gin.
Produced behind bombproof glass in twelve litre batches, the gin on offer is made in a still called ‘Judith’ that has been named after Culpeper’s fiancée – who was killed when the coach in which she was travelling was struck by lightning – and is priced at £3.95 for a single and £7.50 for a larger measure. Bottles are available to take away for £20 each and hopefully don’t contain any aviation fuel.
