J. D. Wetherspoon, the pub chain owned by the batshit crazy Brexiteer Tim Martin, has done again.
Last year, miserable Martin banned European booze and dogs from his premises and ordered his staff to delete all the firm’s social media profiles. Now, the company has hit the headlines yet again for all the wrong reasons.
Last week, The Sun reported that a “selfish, boozed-up mum” was arrested in a J. D. Wetherspoon bar in Stockton, Durham after leaving her four year old son “sleeping alone at home.” The unnamed woman’s mum had incredulously responded to a text saying she was off to the pub and police responded by “forcing entry” to rescue the little chap.
This morning, the same paper shared further embarrassing revelations about what goes on at the chain with a story about how a customer, Mark D’arcy-Smith, had a banana delivered to his table as part of what he perceived to be a “racist” gesture. Mr. D’arcy-Smith has now reported the matter to the police after the management of the Richmal Crompton in Bromley, Kent claimed “they didn’t see what the issue was.”
