The Busy Borwicks

Son of Kensington MP Lady Borwick’s curious connections to the people who ensured both Brexit and the election of Donald Trump revealed

On Sunday, Carole Cadwalladr of  The Observer published a lengthy and well researched article that, amongst other things, examined the connections between The Hon. Thomas Borwick – the son of the Conservative hereditary peer The Rt. Hon. The Lord Borwick and Kensington’s Member of Parliament Lady ‘Call me Victoria’ Borwick – and the controversial US hedge fund titan and backer of Donald Trump, Robert Mercer.

A director of a multitude of companies, in spite of being just 29 years old, “new media expert” Thomas Borwick – whose mother was forced to apologise “after using City Hall resources to promote her husband’s [now defunct] electric vehicle business” in 2009 – it now transpires, was not only Vote Leave’s chief technology officer but previously worked with SCL/Cambridge Analytica and AggregateIQ. Borwick currently touts himself to his 202 followers on Twitter as the founder of a political canvasing consultancy named Kan.to, an organisation that he boldy claims “will out-organise, out-plan, out-leaflet, out-twitter, out-work and out-vote all of its opponents”.

Mercer, one of the owners of the far-right Breitbart News Network as well as being a major shareholder in Cambridge Analytica, is a man whose “sinister” connections to both Trump and Nigel Farage have rightly been widely criticised. On that basis, that the son of fervent Brexiteer Lady Borwick – a woman whose constituents voted 69% to ‘Remain’ and whose domain was home to a greater proportion of EU nationals than any other London borough in 2016 – has links to this billionaire and his activities should only encourage the voters of Kensington to ditch her and her out-of-touch party.

We urge Kensington based readers to support Annabel Mullin of the Liberal Democrats on 8th June. This principled lady is the only person who can realistically unseat Lady Borwick and she is the only candidate who will support the beliefs the majority in this constituency continue to hold dear.

  1. You can’t trust LibDems. They’d sell their own mothers. They lied about tuition pledges, they lie about everything. Borwick isn’t amazing but at least she’s honest.

    1. I don’t believe she is honest. If she were then she would have answered her constituents honestly about her true feelings on Brexit. Instead, she evaded constituents’ questions on which way she would vote on Article 50, not confirming until she had actually voted that she favoured Brexit. She also claimed she was in favour of the Single Market yet supported Theresa May’s hard Brexit. She also said she would support Kensington’s museums, which are all going to suffer thanks to Brexit and the loss of cross-border projects and EU funding. Her triple-dipping as reported in the Telegraph is hardly honest behaviour either.

  2. Lord and Lady Borwick have taught their son well. He plainly, like them, likes befriending powerful people.

    1. Well said! What a horrific family. Typical of the grasping classes that enter politics. This gang sound like the Tories’ answer to the Bloody Blairs!

      1. Jackie, clearly you are a Lib Dem.
Take a look at many of the shady, disreputable crooks who have backed the Lib Dems….no, I suppose that’s something you prefer to do!!

    2. I don’t suppose many powerful people feel like befriending a chippy, envious bore like Mr Phillips.

  3. Victoria Borwick does nothing for her constituents. Why has she done nothing to stop schemes like those by Candy & Candy? Sounds like she and her sorry clan like sticking with other rich people looking at the 29 year old’s vast number of directorships and shareholdings.

    1. You dimwit….Gisela.
How could Borwick stop the Candy Bros schemes? You really do talk nonsense.
He is the hardest working MP we have ever had.

      1. She could try and change planning laws in favour of preserving historic buildings. Look what they did to that lovely old hotel opposite Ken Palace and cry. Shame on Lady Borwick for letting down her constituents.

  4. I definitely see parallels between Thomas Borwick and Jared Kushner. Does that mean I should see parallels between Victoria Borwick and Donald Trump?

  5. Victoria/Lady Borwick should take onboard what the 69% of her constituents believe and respect that. Those who voted Remain deserve a voice and she is not allowing their abilities and views to be heard. I made the grave mistake of backing Brexit and now I am regretting it. I will be voting Liberal Democrats in Westminster on June 8.

  6. Lady Borwick or Vicky or Victoria or whatever the bird is called is supporting Teresa May MAKE GREAT BRITAIN GREAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should be supporting her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phwoah!!!!!!!!!!! She’s pretty smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. What a horrible family. The people of Kensington could do so much better. Vote Annabel Mullin. She sounds like a decent, compassionate person whilst the Borwicks are just another bunch of Tories with a load of money in all the trust funds and companies you mention. That one is called “Poore Limited” is hilarious.

    1. Mr Phillips….you have met neither her or her family so zip it up, dimwit.
The fact is you seem a bit of a failure and harbour envy for anyone who works hard and succeeds.
Victoria is noted for her compassion.

  8. Before they bleat that mummy is in politics and sonny boy is not, he has worked for Vote Leave. The kid is more than fair game. I hear The Observer author Carole Cadwalladr is giving her research from her article to the police and CPS today (so it says on her Twitter).

    1. Tiffani! What a gorgeous name! The sort of name you give to a be-ribboned Yorkie.
Please, my dear, if you have nothing sensible to say then tais-toi.

      1. I’d like a lady called Tiffani!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a beautiful name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
