Fifty Shades Of Gin

Knightsbridge bar and restaurant The Rib Room creates a cocktail using 41 gins (and 9 other ingredients) to mark the release of the film ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’

To mark the release of the film adaptation of E. L. James’ Fifty Shades Of Grey, which Time magazine reports to be the fastest selling R-rated movie in online ticket service Fandango’s history, the Knightsbridge bar and restaurant The Rib Room has created a cocktail named Fifty Shades Of Gin containing a mammoth mix of 41 gins.

Combining an amazing ingredient list that encompasses 50 ingredients, Fifty Shades Of Gin features gins such as The Botanist, Langley’s, Martin Miller’s Westbourne Strength and Portobello Road and fruits including blackberries, blueberries and strawberries. It’s not exactly one that you’ll find easy to make at home.

Fifty Shades Of Grey – directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson – is out in cinemas on Valentine’s Day. Fifty Shades Of Gin is available at The Rib Room now.

    1. The drink is sure to be better than the book or the film. I have a “house bitters” like this at home. I add about 20ml to it of every new bitters I am given. It is very good. If you look at a full list of the gins, half are probably contract gins made by Thames Distillery (now producing over 60 different gin brands on two small stainless steel stills by making gin concentrates). There are hundreds of gins in the world today. The Feathers in Woodstock has 175 brands on their back bar.

      • I will get you to try the drink next time you are in…apparently it has a very interesting side effect…so I have been told by people who have tryed it..:-)
