Flor Kent shows her solidarity with those seeking to highlight the brutality of the Venezuelan government
Yesterday at the InterContinental in Westminster, during filming for a feature for The Steeple Times, artist Flor Kent opted to display the flag of Venezuela next to a statue of the British Parliament to highlight the struggles currently happening in her home country.
This bold lady is not afraid to highlight the truth whilst Mark Weisbrot instead got it wrong yesterday in the Guardian in stating that “Venezuela’s struggle is widely misrepresented in the western media”. Weisbrot is incorrect to downplay the abuse that is going on there and conveniently neglects to mention the 970 individuals detained and 370 who have died as a result.
The world needs people like Flor Kent who stand up and are counted. We commend her efforts.
