Bentley unveil their new Grand Convertible
British carmakers Bentley have taken their flagship Mulsanne model to another level in their adaptation of it into what they have named the ‘Bentley Grand Convertible’.
The head-turning 6¾-litre twin turbo 530bhp V8 engine vehicle is described as “the most sophisticated open-top car ever created by Bentley” and a “showcase of the abilities of [the company’s] master craftsmen”. The interior of the four seat vehicle, which will be on display at Art Basel in Miami this week, includes such features as burr walnut and naturally tanned leather hides and the tonneau – the flat piece that covers the convertible top when it is folded away behind the seats – itself includes the largest piece of wood veneer ever applied to a Bentley.
Bentley’s chairman and CEO, Wolfgang Dürheimer, who unveiled the car at the Los Angeles Auto Show, commented:
“This concept demonstrates Bentley’s ability to create a pinnacle convertible Grand Tourer, while embodying elegance beyond compare. With this car we combine the opulent Mulsanne experience with the full sensory indulgence of open-air touring, continuing to unite luxury and performance in new ways”.
“We are eagerly awaiting the response of our customers to this car. We will ensure that this car – if it reaches the roads – will be a highly exclusive, extremely limited collector’s piece”.
A price has yet to be revealed for the Bentley Grand Convertible but given a standard Mulsanne costs around £225,000 ($343,000), this is a car that will cost well over £250,000 ($392,000).

What a waste of money. Instead of drinking of urging people to waste £250,000 on this silly car, you should be supporting dear Gerry and Kate McCann in their search for their beloved Madeleine. Do the decent thing for once in your sorry life.
Bentley is the best of British tradition. I will be proud to squander £250 000 on the purchase of such a splendid piece of machinery. Terry-Thomas adored Bentley’s and the house of Dunhill. That is what I mean by class………..
People of real class support dear Gerry and Kate McCann in their search for their beloved Madeleine. Please.
Wood rot is back. People with real class use 2 ply toilet paper and wash their hands effectively after a visit to the lavatory. People with real class don’t burb at the dinner table when entertaining guests. People with real class are not under any obligations to put their hands in their pockets, unless they chose to play with themselves. That is exactly what I recommend you should do. Have fun, and give us a well deserved break.
There was a time when gentlemen had Bentleys – a long time ago and before the ‘brand’ was prostituted to footballers wives and the like. Now they have become vulgar in the extreme.
Sorry but WTF has the stupido comments by Gillian Trott, got to do with the Bentley,Surely if those moronic McCann’s had not gone out to dinner with friends, leaving their children alone, then this would never have happened. .Go support that theory
