Meyer moves

Sir Christopher and Lady Meyer put their Chelsea townhouse up for sale for £2.3 million more than was asked when they bought it in 2013 – The catch? It’s next door to a kebab shop

London property prices have certainly gone up since 2013, but the “red-socked fop” former British ambassador to Washington Sir Christopher Meyer and his “Chanel-clad” wife, Catherine, are either onto something or rather greedy in asking some £2.3 million more than the £2.65 million that was asked for 17 Lincoln Street in Chelsea when they purchased it that year.

Sir Christopher and Lady Meyer have put 17 Lincoln Street, London, SW3 2TP on the market for 23 million more than they paid for it in April 2013

Though the couple have modernised the 1,921 square foot, Grade II listed property, the £4.95 million asking price sought for a two to three bedroom house next to a kebab shop seems rather steep. W.A. Ellis act as selling agents for this especially delightful duo.

    1. Their house in First Street was renovated badly and I heard they moaned and moaned, their house in Rawlings Street rattled because it was above an underground line and then they moved into a house next to a smelly kebab restaurant. Their property choices sum them up. What a scummy pair. Where next? A squat?

    2. Trust the champagne swiller to ask a ridiculous price just as London prices have levelled off. She is a very greedy woman and that house (I clicked and looked at the brochure) is badly decorated. Too much Ralph Lauren and not enough that is real. That toy dog in the fireplace is a key sign of what bad taste Lady Muck truly has. The buyer will need to completely re-renovate. I am sure of that.

    3. At least its conveniently located if you’re feeling hungry late at night!!!!!! She ought to be renamed Doner Meyer!!!!!!!!!

      • Ha ha ha……… Love it. And Chrisy boy could be called Shish Meyer. Arise Sir Shish and Lady Doner!!!!!!!!! It’d have been better if Meyer had just “shished” in the first place and hadn’t written that disgraceful book. Ambassadors are meant to behaviour with dignity. Chrissy boy, instead, DISGRACED, his office. Shame on him.

    4. There’s a toy dog, a toy rabbit and a teddy bear; says something about where the love in that house goes.

    5. Also – I hope that they’ve decided to move to Siberia. Best place for them after the disgraceful review she did of the Canvas restaurant. Good on the papers for exposing her for that. People like her should not be going around wrecking businesses with nasty Trip Advisor reviews. All it shows is her as a heartless spirit. Bad karma will follow Lady Catherine wherever she goes.

    6. At the present time the average house price in Lincoln St is £3.45m. This is a bellow average house. It’ll need decorating by somebody with ‘Taste’…………….I rest my case………………!!

      • I’ve seen a lot better for £3.5 million but I’ve seen things that are extraordinary for £5m. The Meyers have ideas above their stations.

    7. They’re always on the move? Why? Are they the kind to upset the neighbours? Four houses in ten years or so. Those that cannot put down roots generally have psychological issues.

    8. You’d have thought Lady Meyer would have got a cleaner in to tidy up prior to the photo shoot! What a mess. You can’t get the staff these days.

    9. Indeed it is Matthew.I thought I’d get in with my attempt at humour before the dreaded Trott woman descended. And how are we today Mr Wayde? I do hope you’re not over indulging on this Easter Sunday.

      • Thank you so much Mrs Mohammad for providing the intelligence that it was ‘humour: we may never have guessed; mind you, I have yet to meet an amusing Muslim. And no, one tends not to ‘over indulge’ on what for us Catholics is a very special day. But being an Islamist it probably is something you wouldn’t have known!

        • Do calm down Mr Wayde! I am a Christian lady who attended St Christophers Cathedral this very morning. If you require any more personal information regarding my religion/lifestyle etc do not hesitate to ask. In the meantime do excuse me, my G&T is getting warm.

            • No Mr Wayde,it gets hot by my pool in the afternoon. Only two more months and sitting outside for one’s sundowner will be impossible. Why so grumpy Mr Wayde?

      • What do they have to do with the Meyer house? If they are so good then Lady Catherine ought to hire them.

    10. Sherston and Lady Edith Foxwell, wife of Ivan Foxwell, who produced the Colditz Story and Tiara Thahiti ……..both really worth a Google

Edith had the ‘ week end guests from hell ‘ who avoided buying drinks in the local pubs

Charles Oliver and Guillermo Enchillada broke this tradition by buying drinks all round; causing them to make their way into Sherston folk lore
