Simon Ogilvie-Harris reviews Whittard’s most luxurious drinking chocolate offering
Whittard’s flaked chocolate drink oozes luxury. It comes in a beautiful cardboard cylinder with sketches of the cocoa plant on the outside.
When I opened it, I was delighted to see that this was no ordinary hot chocolate. Rather than coming in powder form, the chocolate to stir into your warm milk comes as flaked chocolate with 77% of it cocoa solids giving an amazing rich aroma and taste.
The brilliance of this is it is a drink that not only tastes good but also has the health benefits of dark chocolate As an avid hot chocolate drinker, I must say that if you are looking for something sophisticated in taste terms, this is the drinking chocolate for you.

Fantastic! I am big fan of hot chocolate but sometimes find that when bought in cafes that it is too sweet. I think M&S do a bar where you just drop into hot milk, but I haven’t tried that yet. The Whittard one sounds excellent though. A must try, I think. Well done Simon!
