Couple who have vowed to divorce if Australia legalises gay marriage deserve nothing but contempt
Yesterday, The Telegraph reported that an Australian couple named Nick and Sarah Jensen have announced that they will divorce if the nation legalises gay marriage. In doing so, this ridiculous pair make a mockery of the institution they claim to respect and that a Facebook group “celebrating their impending divorce” has attracted over 171,000 members is not surprising.
Of why they intend to take such a course of action, Mr Jensen – “who has worked as a Christian lobbyist and founded an organsiation that trains Christians to enter public life” – commented:
“The decision to divorce is not one we’ve taken lightly… And certainly, it’s not one that many will readily understand … So why do this? It will certainly complicate our lives as we try to explain our marital status on the sidelines during Saturday sport. The reason, however, is that, as Christians, we believe marriage is not a human invention… [Marriage is] a sacred institution, ordained by God”.
Mr and Mrs Jensen are entitled to do as they wish but in publicly making such a declaration, all they achieve is to make themselves like utter fools and thus we make them our most worthy Wallies of the Week.

God will forgive them for their stupidity!!!!!! They are just seeking publicity for themselves. They look rather thick actually.
Rod…please stop using all these !!!!! Youhave made your point and if you haven’t the it’s obviously because it’s pointless
Satan has taken over the priests & Churches and government in Australia! And it’s time for these two people to separate their souls from the satanic church they married in.
I wonder how many rank and file people of the world, believe that non-Sacramental marriage is by nature an unstable contract, easily broken? Personally I don’t know why anyone would feel enhanced by it, other than for certain legal reasons.
Oh dear, the godbotherers! 171,000 members on Facebook, what does that tell us?! Wonder how long they’ve got….
Julie….please not the godbothers….
It’s a Dawkins thing and overdone
Where on earth do you find them?
Peter Wayde has made the point already, but I, too, find Rod’s excessive use of exclamation marks irritating. It also detracts from whatever point he’s trying to make as he comes across as both inconsiderate and illiterate. I don’t imagine that’s the impression he intends to convey?
‘Rod’ with his egregious overuse of exclamation marks, offers ‘advice’ in his blog: Rodney Jones’s “Email Tools for active Affiliates”. How could anyone treat his advice seriously. What a juvenile plonker.
