A former member of President Nixon’s White House staff turned acclaimed television journalist, Diane Sawyer was born in Glasgow, Kentucky. She frequently appears on the Forbes list of “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” and became one of six people to request and receive a public denial from Bob Woodward that she was Deep Throat, his source of leaks of classified information during the Watergate scandal.
