Rare 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi once owned by boxer Prince Naseem Hamed goes to auction
Described as “The Subaru from Hell” by Car & Driver, the 1998 Impreza 22B STi was imported to the UK on an extremely limited basis to mark Subaru’s fortieth anniversary. It cost around £40,000 new (the equivalent of £63,000, $90,000 or €79,000 today) and now one, which was owned by the boxer Prince Naseem Hamed (نسيم حميد), is now due to be auctioned.
Guided at £60,000 to £70,000 ($85,000 to $100,000 or €75,000 to €87,000), the super-powerful 2.2-litre car has covered just 2,000 miles from new and is capable of a top speed of 150 miles per hour. The car has the boxer’s name and logo emblazoned into its front headrests and will be offered for sale by Silverstone Auctions on 20th May 2016 at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire.

It suited that little dwarf perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder its now for sale given how fat he’s become!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such a great car in terms of its abilities. Colin McCrae made Subaru famous driving cars like these. With his sad death, the brand lost it. An era of motoring history I fondly remember still.
What’s the 0 to 60 mph like?
Around 4.5 secs. Pity about the hideous seats.
I believe his cousin crashed this car at 80mph in the late 90’s!
