RM Sotheby’s to sell an eccentric wooden Hustler ‘car’ at their Battersea sale
This Wednesday in London’s Battersea Park, RM Sotheby’s will sell a plethora of stunning cars and amongst them will be a six wheel, fibre glass 1983 Hustler 6 clad in wood.
Offered with an estimate of £20,000 to £30,000 ($26,600 to $40,000 or €23,800 to €35,800) and without reserve, the British William Towns designed ‘car’ – if it can be described as such – has a wheelbase of 279.4cm and a 56bhp, 1,275cc inline four-cylinder engine.
Described as “craftily built and outfitted in yachting fashion”, the vehicle seats ten and comes with wicker baskets, water skis, life preservers, chrome horns, and scuppers.
RM Sotheby’s add: “If you would like to upstage your friends with a Mini Moke or Fiat Jolly, this is your car—the ideal partner to a Riva or Pedrazzini”.
