Banish Boy George

Boy George shows his nasty side (yet again); it’s time he was banished

Boy George blocked The Steeple Times on Twitter after we pointed out that the BBC really shouldn’t continue to promote this convicted repeat offender. This week, he once again showed his nasty side when he appeared on a television show in New Zealand.

George – a man found guilty of offences that have included chaining a male escort to a radiator, threatening him with a sex toy and beating him with a metal chain – was asked about his criminal past by a Seven Sharp presenter named Toni Street. He reacted, in predictably diva-ish fashion, by angrily removing his earpiece and walking out.

In response later, Ms Street commented:

“I was really shocked that he walked out”.

“He had already answered a question on the topic so beautifully. He had said he wanted to move on and use his past as a way of helping others with addiction”.

Here, again, this one-time pop star proved he’s nothing but unhinged. It truly would be better if this nasty piece of work just disappeared for good. It’s time to banish Boy George.

  1. Leave him alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He’s amazing!!!!!!!!!! And we all do naughty things!!!!!!!!!! Some of us just don’t get caught!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Chaining some poor bugger to a radiator; beating someone with a chain.
I think you’ve a badly distorted view of the meaning of the word “naughty”.
If you’ve done similar things, it’s probably about time you got caught – for everyone else’s good!

  2. Matthew,

You do tend to have double standards, which, can after a period of time irritate people and wined them up the wrong way!

The abuse you received over the past few weeks from a certain group of followers was vile and unacceptable, and I don’t not condone that sort of behaviour.

However I do find that you seem to go after certain people that don’t fit your socially acceptable criteria. Everyone is entitled to lead there life in the way that they choose, as long as it is within the letter of the law. Living in a mock Tudor house in Cheshire is not a crime and nor is drinking an old fashioned as opposed to a gin and tonic. I’m guessing that you weren’t privately educated, not that that is a crime, but we’re so desperate to be, hence why you have adopted this persona, where the borough of K&C is your spiritual home, but actually it couldn’t be further from the truth.

I’m also assuming (please correct me if I am wrong) you have never met boy George and I’m also assuming that he blocked you from twitter for the same reasons that you blocked several of your followers last week! Everyone makes mistakes and everyone is entitled to a another chance?

Drop the chip from the shoulder and go back to writing about things that witty and not chippy!

The talented or talentless mr ripely is starting wain and I’m not sure that journalism is for you!!!

      1. I do not object to people living in mock Tudor houses in Cheshire. I have not, as far as I am aware, commented on such.
      2. I do not object to people drinking the Old Fashioned cocktail. That is their prerogative but bartenders’ find them annoying to make as they are time consuming and other customers are held up. I do prefer gin and tonics myself.
      3. I went to a grammar school and would not have had it any other way. I do not object to comprehensive schools, public schools and I liked the academies David Cameron created.
      4. I have not “adopted” any persona. I am happy as I am.
      5. Boy George abused and assaulted and held hostage a man. I assume, on that basis, you’d also say “forgive” Stuart Hall, Max Clifford, et al. He’s also had many chances and committed numerous other offences. His lack of humility speaks volumes.

I also appreciate your remarks about the trolling I have received. It has not been nearly as bad as what happened to my friend Gina Miller but it is indeed unacceptable.

In regard to whether I can write or not, I cannot answer. I have a loyal and substantial following who enjoy what we publish. We won’t be changing our content and we will stick to a wide variety of topics.

      You are a bloody moron.
Everybody makes mistakes, give me a break. On that basis, then perhaps we should free Rolf and give him his job back and also maybe cast a statue of Savile and worship him. Boy George is nothing but a sleeeeeze bag that got caught ONCE, do you honestly think he has never done this sort of thing before. I can’t stand how we put these scum up there, and we have them doing the rounds on various morning shows etc, and we are all supposed to be in awe of them. He’s just done the rounds here down under, as far as I’m concerned the UK can keep this foul export.

  3. I’m with you, Matthew. As I’ve said before, if he had struck a woman, chained her up against her will, and then brought out a box of sex toys to abuse her with, he would still be in prison now.
I firmly believe that anyone who could do that is a dangerous individual and not to be trusted. Such actions are actually reminiscent of what went on at 25 Cromwell Street.
I find it sad and frightening how people can excuse such behaviour and/or turn a blind eye to it.
But then again, this isn’t the only disturbing example. Hollywood stars still queue up to work with Roman Polanski – despite the fact that he is a fugitive rapist.
And remember Leslie Grantham? I always found it bizarre that he was sacked from EastEnders for dirty Internet webcam exploits. Yet BBC bosses had no problem employing him in the first place – despite the fact that he spent a decade in prison for murdering a taxi driver.
