Canadian sues Sunwing Airlines because he was given sparkling wine instead of champagne
A cheapskate airline allegedly promoted a “champagne service” and then bamboozled at least 1,600 customers by serving them cheap sparkling wine.
Quebec based Daniel Macduff, the BBC report, has launched a class action against Sunwing Airlines after he booked a holiday to Cuba that advertised “a complimentary on-board champagne toast” but only was given cheap sparkling wine instead.
Of the legal suit, Sébastien Paquette, a lawyer for Macduff, commented: “It’s not about the pettiness of champagne versus sparkling wine. It’s the consumer message behind it.”
Whilst Sunwing denounce the case brought against them as “frivolous and without merit,” Guest of a Guest’s Stephanie Maida concluded: “Champagne is a basic human right… The gall.” Pass the bubbles.

Typical of you to make fun of prosecco drinkers Steeples. You are the same man who helped get the INNOCENT man Viscount St Davids jailed and taken from the arms of his loving family. Shame on you.
You also have a bad dose of the Trotts and seem to support abusive and threatening criminals. Is your next stage supporting paedos and people who abuse the opposite gender? Any of those is a sure sign of your sickness and you obviously need treatment.
His loving family, if only you knew. His wife should have been in the adjacent cell…..
He’s been very lucky not to have served a lot longer. This is the second time that laws have been brought in for his actions because no one expected anyone to be the c*nt he has been and continues to prove himself to be.
Good for him…
Too many event organisers offer champagne receptions when it’s actually prosecco or English sparkling wines.
Has anyone noticed how the waiters cover the label on the bottle with a white cloth and they themselves say it’s champagne when it’s not.
Well, if your taste is so absent that you cannot tell the difference what does it matter.
