There is a very thin veneer for decency amongst academics in Britain and Europe. Dominique Strauss-Khan IMF boss raped a maid in a posh New York Hotel, strings were pulled in the prosecution service,crucial evidence sweeped under the carpet. He too is a champagne socialist and academic, and was predicted to become the next President of France. It is more than a moral crusade. Perhaps the respected professor of sociology from the University of Kent can explain why double standards are acceptable when politicians and the establishment are involved. Why can’t nurses and doctors not sweep mlstakes and offences under the carpet?
